Just want to share an RA Experience...
So today i was in RA, and, heh, no great shock, my entire party leaves me sitting dry.
But im a fighter, and a mesmer, so i stick it through, almsot killed an Ele 4 v 1. I was doing random stuff like singing through Chat.. but thats not my point;
This is:
I'd like to know why im considered
"Douche"
For remaining in an RA and not bailing just because we were one player short?
Anyone got answer as to why playing the game makes me douche?

I still wonder who told the RA Players that someone is more likely to do something when you show them your impressive collection of childish insults. I mean seriously, did any monk ever stop kiting just because the warrior was shouting "stop running noob". Did any runner ever leave when someone called him "Moron"? Doubt it, yet people think that's the way to go and if their insult did not work, it must not have been impressive enough. Time for another.

I don't approve of the insult, but if you consider the sequence of events, you were being selfish.
So you wanted a match, but your team left you ("no heal, no chance" mentality, for better or worse). You were denied this match at that point. But then you decide to exact a toll on the opposing team too. Although they cannot fix things for you, you force them to stay with you while you waste time "fighting" (singing?) a pointless battle 4v1 until the timer ran out. You forced them to waste their time, punishing them for the leavers on your team.
IMO the right thing to do there is to leave. If it was a matter of 1 kill and they win, then you may indulge and get yourself slain. But on a timed map it's not nice.

The right thing do is is whatever you want, but that doesn't mean you should go on a leaving or leeching rampage in RA.
Do whatever you want, even if it is annoying to the other cause you both know you will not win, who knows maybe you can kill one or two of them when they slip up.
Hell i know i get that sometimes when i go RA with my Air ele, even if my whole team leaves i will stay and quite a few times i can get a kill, most of the time thats all i care about, just not letting them get flawless.
The thing is you just happend to have done that in the kill count map, which sucks for the other team, if it was any other map they would have killed you fast, unless you just ran around, which would be lame, if your gonna stay ,stay and fight try and kill one.So yes if it was another map you would have died fast and you wouldn't have "wasted" their time.

Well, Cass, that would be true if he was just running around, trying to stay alive. It sounds to me that he was actually fighting (almost killed an ele), and more or less just trying his best, possibly hoping that he got a real bunch of idiots. But, meh. Fine line between griefing, stupidity, and courage.

1. They were going to have to play 2:00 if they faced a full team.
2. The OP forced them to play 2:00.
I don't see how it "wasted their time"....

@ OP: Stand around in any district of RA and read local chat for a while. You will quickly learn that many of the people there really don't need a reason to act like a half-pubescent insecure, loud mouth brat.

...You're griefing the other team and making fun of it. Do you honestly expect anything less from people who've just had 3 minutes of their time wasted by you feeling the need to type random crap (or 'sing' if you prefer) in local chat? I'd be pretty RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing pissed if I were on the other team, too.

If they faced full team, they would have had fun fighting it, and those two minutes would be well spent.
If they face lone person, fight was decided before it even started, they were hadly having fun and "gg". Their time was wasted.
What op did is roughly comparable to runners or tanking wammos - pointless spitefull waste of time of oposite party, bascially griefing.
Is it so hard to accept defeat and simply /resign? Its RA, get used to it.

When was the last time you raged and insulted when you didn't get your fun? Oh yea when your mother took you away from Disney Land. The opposite side was immature, which is all of RA.

First, once the start timer ends and the gates open on The Crag, the actual game timer lasts for three minutes. Not two minutes. There's usualy a 30 second travel time, and you res at a shrine every 30s. The OP died 5 times, and 5 * 30s + 30s = 3 minutes. It's pretty clear that I'm right on it being 3 minutes if you even understand very basic game mechanics and math... If you don't think this is correct, though, why don't you actualy play the game, ok?
Obviously the other team could have possibly lost if the OPs team was there. I didn't even comment about that, because it's really stupid to comment on "Well, if this didn't happen then this might have happened, but we don't actualy know and never will." His team left him. There is no way they could come back, and most obviously even if there was, they wouldn't want to come back. So, why continue? The OP could have simply left the game, and saved the other team three minutes of their time. There was no chance of him winning. None at all. So, he has three options really. 1) Leave immediately. 2) Ask the other team if they want faction for killing him, and if they don't respond or say no, leave. If they say yes, die once and leave. 3) Waste the other teams time for three minutes. 4) Waste the other teams time for three minutes and be a dick about it. He chose option four, and is wondering why the other team is upset.
/lern2reason, ok?
